Eva's Story
Eva contacted Crisis for support following an altercation with her husband that forced her to rough sleep for several nights then had to sofa surf with a family friend for 18 months. She spoke to a person working in a Crisis charity shop who advised her to contact the Crisis Skylight in Liverpool Street.
Crisis and Kaz, her lead worker worked with Eva to find a home, helping her to pay the deposit on a flat and make it comfortable with furniture. Eva joined skills-training classes through Crisis where she learnt how to make her own jewellery and use a laptop. Crisis also supported Eva when she her eyesight started deteriorating with an optician's appointment, a new pair of glasses and a new mobile phone.
